In this event, you will learn the basics of controlling a robot using Arduino, and put your pathfinding skills to the test by navigating your robot out of a challenging maze as quickly as possible! Don't worry, no coding experience is required! THIS IS A COMPETITIVE EVENT, PRIZES WILL BE GIVEN TO THE WINNERS!
This event will be running twice on the dates given, your team will only show up on one of the date!

The Open Round of NACLO 2023 will be held on Thursday, January 26th, 2023 from 10am to 1pm at the University of Toronto, and all students will travel to the site as individuals.
As this time will conflict with one of the mornings of first semester exams, Linguistics Club plans to make arrangements with the school to make sure all students writing the competition will not miss their exam. We've received a few questions on election guidelines, rules and where election resources can be found, so I'll try to address them all in a post here. An online dropbox has been created for the mandatory 30 student signatures (due May 13th); the link for that, along with the candidate form, teacher reference form, and info meeting slides can be found at the end of this post.
Next - a few FAQ's:

Only current Grade 9's may vote for the Junior Representative position.
All students, including graduating students, may vote for any position. The sole exception is the Junior Representative position, as listed above.
Teacher references must be from teachers currently teaching at Mackenzie.
Candidates for appointed positions also need 30 signatures from students supporting their candidacy.

It's the moment you've all been waiting for: Java After Dark is back in full force!
This year, this display of Mackenzie's best musical talent will take place in-person as part of the Arts in Bloom showcase on May 19th. Vocal pop solos, jazzy instrumental groups, and anything in between are welcome to audition from May 9-11.
