"ChatGPT, oh how smart you are
Your conversations take us far
With words and wit, you entertain
A true AI master of the chat domain"
- ChatGPT
Cringey or cool? What's your opinion, Mac? The Lyon is weaving together an article about ChatGPT (and featuring a mirror version prepared by ChatGPT) and we would love your words of advice and wisdom! As passionate believers in our beliefs, here is your opportunity to have your voice featured on a Mackenzie-special piece discussing this very pertinent development.
We encourage you to fill out this anonymous survey, or not, the choice to read, rant, and roar is yours: https://forms.gle/pVXDhYbW58Lp5BnB6

These past few years have been full of change, but if that has taught us anything, it’s that we must initiate our own positive change. Hey Mac!
We've received a few questions on election guidelines, rules and where election resources can be found, so I'll try to address them all in a post here. An online dropbox has been created for the mandatory 30 student signatures (due May 13th); the link for that, along with the candidate form, teacher reference form, and info meeting slides can be found at the end of this post.
Next - a few FAQ's:
Only current Grade 9's may vote for the Junior Representative position.
All students, including graduating students, may vote for any position. The sole exception is the Junior Representative position, as listed above.
Teacher references must be from teachers currently teaching at Mackenzie.
Candidates for appointed positions also need 30 signatures from students supporting their candidacy.
These FAQ's, along with any others that may come up in the future, will be listed on a Google Doc also linked below.

“Your english is so good!”

We’ve all experienced small comments aimed our way that intentionally or unintentionally hurt us and make us feel uncomfortable in our skin. These are all examples of something called microaggressions. Microaggressions are instances of indirect, subtle, or unintentional discrimination against members of a marginalized group. Despite what the micro- may have you believe, these incidences can have a huge impact on the mental health and well-being of marginalized populations. Attend our Let’s Talk Now Meeting at lunch this Thursday in room 215 to learn more about these impacts and how they can be minimized! Everyone is welcome!
