Our goal is to foster an open-minded school environment where students can freely talk about the issues that matter to them, without fear of judgement. Major issues are addressed all the time at school and in the media, but mostly, we just scratch the surface of these deeply complex topics. To start a conversation about the deeper aspects of these issues and more, every week we will be hosting an open discussion for a specific topic that is often overlooked (with some info slides provided for context). We also understand that learning about these issues can lead to a feeling of helplessness. That is why members will be encouraged to do an assigned task to raise awareness for the topic of the week. As well, actions are just as important as conversations, so the club will host several charity events throughout the year to support movements chosen by our members.
