Monday, May 29th (tomorrow) will be the official Student Activity Council election for the 2023-2024 school year. All current students, including graduating Grade 12s, will be voting. To accomodate the assemblies and voting, tomorrow will be a modified schedule as shown below:

Monday - Jersey Day/Water Day
Dress up in your favourite jerseys and come to the field at lunch for a slip n' slide and a water sprinkler
Tuesday - Pajama Day/Club Day
Dress up in your PJs! This is the last food day for all clubs to sell food this school year. Additionally, come to the small field for some club game booths!
Wednesday - Celeb Day/Lipsync Battle
Dress up as any celebrity and come to the caf at lunch for an epic lipsync battle!
Thursday - DLSTSWTFLIYN Day/Free Freezies
Dress like something that starts with the first letter in your name day! Also SAC will be giving out free freezies at the school store during lunch.
Friday - Frat Friday/Carnival
Come to the field during our EXTENDED LUNCH for carnival games, food trucks, and a bouncy castle!
Hello everyone, tomorrow will be a half day due to the parent teacher interviews happening at 1:00pm - 3:00pm as well as 6:00pm - 8:30pm.
The modified schedule is as follows:
Period 1: 9:00 - 9:45
Period 2: 9:50 - 10:35
Period 3: 10:40 - 11:25
Period 4: 11:30 - 12:15
Due to Advanced Placement exams being written, the cafeteria will be closed for lunch on May 4, 6, and 9.
Similarly, all morning announcements (except the land acknowledgement and national anthem) will be read at 11:25am on May 4, 5, and 9 due to AP exams being written in the morning.
A reminder that tomorrow will be both a credit recovery day and a late start.
Although no official classes will take place on these days, you will still need to complete attendance virtually on both days within the first 10 minutes of each period.
Please check your online classes (Brightspace or Google Meet) for information from your teacher’s about virtual attendance. You are only required to come to school on these days if you have an appointment scheduled with your teacher(s). If you don’t have an appointment scheduled, you will remain at home.

There will be two Credit Rescue days this month, taking place on Monday, April 11th and Wednesday, April 20th (late start schedule).
Although no official classes will take place on these days, you will still need to complete virtual attendance on both days. Please complete your attendance for each class in the first 10 minutes of the period.

After the last regular day of Semester 1 on Wednesday, January 26th (late start), Credit Rescue will take place at Mackenzie on Thursday January 27th, Friday January 28th, and Tuesday February 1st. Although no classes will take place during this time, you will still need to complete virtual attendance every day for each of the four days. On Monday January 31st, Guidance will be hosting virtual course selection assemblies on Zoom for Grades 9, 10, and 11 students.
You will complete attendance with your Week 1 teachers on all four days at the following times:

Week 1, Course 2 Attendance: 12:15PM - 12:30PM

An update from the TDSB: due to the snow storm, there will be no in-person or virtual learning for tomorrow (Tuesday January 18th).
Caveat that teachers may provide voluntary class work, and previously assigned work continues. To be sure, check with your teachers' online classrooms (Brightspace, Google Classroom, etc).

Grad Photots
Due to Covid Protocols, the Grad Photo Session scheduled for January 6th to the 14th has been postponed. Once the new Operational Guidelines have been released, session dates and booking instructions will be communicated. Students who already scheduled a photo session will have to rebook once the new dates are available.
Resource Room for Students with IEPs
Here is the Zoom link to access the Resource Room for tests or to drop-in for extra help. If you plan on writing a test with a Resource Teacher please sign up ahead of time on the Test Booking System (24hrs prior to time of test) so that the Resource teacher can access a copy of the test. The Resource Room will be open every period throughout the school day.

Clubs Update
Quick Club and Council Update for January 20222: Due to the unforeseen switch to remote learning, ALL Clubs and Council Activities will be placed on a temporary pause, to be (re)evaluated on our new in-class start date of Jan 17. If you have any questions, please speak with your club or council executive. You may also contact SAC, Ms Mancini or Mr Quan for any further assistance.
Credit Recovery Day
Mackenzie will have a modified schedule on Wednesday January 12, 2022 for Credit Rescue Day. You will still have to connect with your Week 1 teachers for morning and afternoon attendance (schedule is below) at 9:00am and 12:15pm. Check your teachers' Brightspace or Google Classroom for instructions about attendance. The rest of the day is scheduled for virtual credit rescue by invitation only. Your teachers will contact you if you are invited to attend credit rescue and provide you with a Zoom / Google Meet link.
As the Ontario Government has mandated, we'll be resuming school starting this Wednesday, January 5th. Due to current circumstances surrounding the pandemic and the omicron variant, all learning will be virtual and remote until at least Monday, January 17th.
Before class starts tomorrow, be sure to check your teachers' Google Classroom and Brightspace pages for how you'll be meeting with them.
