Heeeeeeeeey Mac!

Welcome to the Lyon's Den by Project Metropolis, a website and online platform made from scratch. Inspired by the old SAC site, 14 students banded up and started this project with the aim of centralizing the online presence of WLMAC, helping students access information on clubs and events, and making tools that are unique and personalized to this school.

Navigating the Site 101

If you're new, you should do the following:

  1. Sign up by clicking the dropdown on the far right of the navigation bar and clicking Sign Up or by clicking here.
  2. Fill in your information. You must use your TDSB email.
  3. Click the link in the signup confirmation message sent to your email address.

Here's a brief overview of what you can do:

  • Your home page, or the Dashboard, shows your schedule, announcements, and blog posts.

  • The Announcements page shows all the announcements, with the latest at the top. You can filter your feed by switching through the options above the posts.

  • The Blog page is where we will post content featuring the students of WLMAC! We plan to give you music recommendations, photojournalism, and other fun things in the future.

  • Want to join a club? The Clubs page will help you with that! You will be able to see all the clubs here, as well as useful info like links to club websites and application statuses.

  • If you're lost, you can access the Map. All rooms are colour-coded, labelled, and shown relative to your position (if you agree to share your location, of course).

  • If you're lost (in terms of time), the Calendar is here for you. You'll be able to see meetings and events, as well as wistfully look for the next PA day.

  • The About page shows a description of the students behind this site and Project Metropolis, as well as contact information for the school.

  • You should also take a look at your Profile and Timetable.

    • For your profile, you can see your name, username, executive positions, and followed clubs. You can also edit your bio and add a profile picture through Gravatar.
    • This website automatically shows you your current period in school if you fill in your timetable. To do so, go to the Timetable page, select the term (semester) from the dropdown, and press Continue. Afterwards, you will be able to add all of your courses from a dropdown list. Note that your timetable is private to you, and you alone.

Everything mentioned above can be accessed using the navigation bar. Just click a button on the bar to go to its corresponding page.

What's to Come

We plan to roll out more features in the future. Look out for notifications, an app for Android and iOS, better search and filter capabilities, and more content soon™.
