Volleyball:

Meh, the Senior Girls Volleyball team is doing well or whatever… The girls pulled out two very close wins against AY Jackson and Emery CI. The first game against AY Jackson ended with the girls winning 25 - 8, and the second set ended with the girls also winning 25 - 4. Like I said, very close. The second game against Emery ended with a nail-biting 25 - 10 in the first set, and a 25 - 12 in the second set. Kidding aside, the Senior Girls volleyball team is killing the competition! If you want specific details for their games, tune in for their next games! Or if that isn’t for you, feel free to read up on them in the local obituary statements from the other teams!

The Junior Girls are doing just as well as the Senior girls, winning their first game against Emery CI! The first set had some rough areas where the girls had to shake off some of their first game jitters, but they pulled themselves together and were able to have a fairly dominant win over the other team with an ending score of 25 - 18 in the first set, and 25 - 15 in the second set! Good job girls!

Basketball:

The Senior and Juniors Boys basketball teams kicked it off with two exciting home games!

The Senior Boys had a slow game against Northview. Mackenzie was not able to consistently get through Northview’s defenses, and Northview was able to counterattack after to score their points. After a lot of back and forth, the Lyon’s slowly bled points and ended the game 30 - 53. A second home game was played against Westview Centennial SS. The team suffered from the same problems where they traded points, but slowly bled out some points here and there. The team showed much improvement from the last game, but sadly ended with the score 49 - 60. The teamwork and communication between the boys is still developing, so we hope to see their hard work start to pay off soon!

The Junior boys came out swinging with a win against Northview Height SS. The boys came out swinging, with the tempo mostly in their favour. With spirits high, and the crowd loud, the boys were able to win with a convincing score of 44 - 33. The second game against Westview Centennial was a very close one. The boys came with the same high intensity from their previous win, and played very well against their formidable opponents. The boys played very well individually, as well as a team and were able to pull out a very close win with a score of 44 - 40.
