Greek Heritage Month March 25th is also the Feast of the Annunciation in the Greek Orthodox Church. It commemorates the day the Archangel Gabriel told the Virgin Mary that she would give birth to Jesus Christ. This joyous occasion is celebrated with church services and traditional meals, such as bakaliaros skordalia (fried cod with garlic dip).
