Here’s a fun Black history fact: In 1979, Lincoln Alexander became the first Black person elected to Canada’s House of Commons and later the first Black Lieutenant Governor in Canadian history. Lincoln Alexander was a trailblazing Canadian politician, lawyer, and community leader who broke down racial barriers in politics and public service. He spent his life advocating for education, equality, and opportunities for young people across Canada.
