Day of Silence

April 19, 2022, 11:39 a.m.

Hey Mac! On Friday April 22 the annual Day of Silence will be taking place! The Day of Silence is a day when students take a vow of silence to spread awareness of the silencing of LGBTQ+ people. LGBTQ+ students who are bullied and harassed for their identities can be forced into silence and erasure. By choosing to be silent, students and educators bring attention to the impact that is made to a community when LGBTQ+ people are silenced.

To participate in Day of Silence, you will choose to go throughout the school day without speaking to anyone. If you are interested in participating, come sign up in the front foyer or with the attached Google Form, so that your teachers will be notified of your participation. In-person signups will be held Tuesday and Thursday at lunch. People who are signed up can come to the front foyer on Tuesday or Thursday at lunch to pick up a Day of Silence pin.
